Atenor, Arηs Group and Agora designate the architecture firms HYP and UNStudio as the winners for the development of the Kyklos project following the acquisition of lot 48 in Central Square, Belval

The Kyklos project will be the last building to shape the Central Square District around the Place des Bassins. Organised around a circular core, with bold curvilinear geometry and large glass façades, the project will offer a working and living environment over 8 floors that meets the highest standards. It will be BREEAM and WELL certified and will comply with the criteria of the European taxonomy.

Lot 48 was awarded, in December 2022, to Atenor in partnership with the Arηs group by Agora, responsible for the rehabilitation of the former ArcelorMittal steel plant in Belval. At the same time, a 10-year lease agreement was signed with Arηs Group for the occupancy of all the offices. This real estate project provides for more than 7,600 m² of offices as well as commercial spaces at the foot of the building.

An international architectural competition was co-organised with Agora, with the objective of developing an office building distinguished by its quality and excellence to complement the architectural landscape of the district. Following the call for applications in February 2023, 29 architects submitted a file. The selection process was carried out in two phases. The first phase consisted of the pre-selection of 3 architectural offices according to their references and vision for the project. Following the completion of preliminary designs, a jury made up of representatives from Atenor, Agora and Arηs, based on the conclusions of a committee of experts, selected the project that best met the requirements in terms of sustainability, quality, aesthetics and programming to meet the needs of future occupants.

Atenor, Agora and Arηs were delighted about the enthusiasm generated by this project, thanked the applicants for their interest and efforts while highlighting the quality of the teams and applications received.
